So, poor Seth. He has a Country report he's working on, he worked on it for hours today. We realized RIGHT before he went to bed that none of the work he did today was saved:eek: For good reason...He got VERY upset. The last few times he's been upset like that, his bg shot up to the 300's. That's what I was expecting when I tested him. Instead he was 98, I don't get it. He had had a bg of 170 with a little still on board, (Not enough to drop him that much) then dropped to 98.

When angry, does your child go low? Or high? and how old are they?

Interesting question Heather...not how does their bg affect their mood, but how does their mood affect their bg, right?

All I know is if Ian is excited, anxious, or upset his bg goes up.

Hugs to you!

My daughter is 16. When she is angry and throwing a big fit, she goes high.

Tom, 15, goes high with any kind of stress. A day's worth of work gone missing would have put him over 500.

My son is under a lot of stresses through out the day and I don't see it affect his sugars.

But there was this one time... so it's just D's way of keeping us on our toes.

Good luck,

Charmed

My DD is 8 and anger usually sends her low. However, most of her angry moods start when she is high, so maybe it's part defense mechanism???????

I hope your son was able to remember some of his work and get it back into a file so he didn't have to start over completely. Poor guy!

I noticed when Liv had a stronger honeymoon going on that she would go higher from stress. Now, she experiences lows and the drops are rapid. Those rapid drops are almost impossible for her to feel. Same thing with my brother, he can feel too little food/too much insulin lows...but emotional/stress lows he can not feel.

Just wanted to add that it's not everyday stress that does this...it's the extraordinary stress that's once-in-a-while and very upsetting or very exciting that does this to Liv. The same thing with my brother, not everday stress or stress that's expected.

It depends on the stress - low grade stress will make her run low while high stress shoots her through the roof - loosing a nights worth of homework would be high stress- fighting with her sister over humming - low stress...

I know that when my DH is low he is very mean!! I know that doesn't really relate to the particular question, but it does kinda!

Seth usually goes high too...I was fully expecting a 300 plus bg. Weird that he was 98. Better than 300, but weird. He woke up at 155.

See, I always thought the high BG is what makes DS angry...not the anger making BG go up. Hmmm...
