View Full Version : It is so small...

I did not wait to have a week's worth of waking numbers with Deacon to know he needs .50 unit of Lantus at night. I saw enough mid 200's-300's to know he needs a nightly dose of Lantus. I am hoping that the .50 unit does not lower him as much as the 1 unit did. I hope that this works perfectly.

The dose is so small though. I am glad that I have 1/2 unit increments on the syringes but it was hard to absorb that fact that I did give him a dose of Lantus. It was such a small push on the syringe.

I didn't see any difference from yesterday's numbers to do today. I do not know if it is because Lantus takes a while to take effect or if .50 is not enough. I will wait a few more days to see. This morning's number was 248.

Hope his numbers come down by tomorrow--he'll feel so much better! And so will you!

Thank you. I can't give him a full unit at night though. He will drop to 50's by morning. So I am kind of stuck searching for a happy medium.

We were told to give any changes in Lantus 3 days before we decided if it was going to work or not. I hope you will see a difference in the next day or two.
