We received the AccuChek Compact Plus a few days ago. I really like the design- sure is handy for taking places. The only design flaw I have found in it is that the SoftClix lancing device that attaches to the side of the meter does not use the cartridges like the original MultiClix does. You still have to manually put in a new lancet each time, which to me more or less defeats the purpose of the "all in one" system. It would be a perfect system for the car, purse, etc. if the lancing device didn't have to be manually reloaded each time. However, I like the meter because of the fact the strips are in a little cartridge so at least you are not loading a strip every time. Joshua's Grandpa has adopted this as his meter to carry because of the fact that it is all contained in one piece- not half a dozen things to carry. The test strips are expensive, though, so I am sure we will only be using it as a "sometimes" meter.
