I have both the MM 522 and the omnipod. I did an experiment to see the difference on how they cut or give more insulin. Here are the numbers I have gotten.

Omnipod
bs 188
carbs 25
meal bolus 0.85
correction 0.50

Bs 210
carbs 56
correction -0.70

bs 89
carbs 32
meal bolus 0.75
correction 0

bs 116
carbs 45
meal bolus 1.50
correction 0

MM 522
bs 188
carbs 25
Meal bolus 0.80
correction 0.30

bs 210
carbs 56
Meal bolus 2.0
correction -0.5

bs 89
carbs 32
meal bolus 1.1
correction - 0.30

bs 116
carbs 45
meal bolus 1.60
correction 0.10

the I/c - 1/28, sentivity is 115, bs target is 120/150, Dia is 4 hrs.
There was no active insulin. My son does not eat alot. LOL.... He eats maybe every 4 hours.

They are both on the same scale as C/I, senitivity, bs targets, everything is the same.
What does this mean. Anyone know. I don't. Just thought I would let you know the difference.

What is the I:C ratios, DIA, min/max target range and ISF used for each test? It would be nice if you could also capture the active insulin amount at the time each test was done.

Excellent, can you post the breakdowns?

I know the pumps definitely differ on the IOB/BOB calculations, but I didn't think the other stuff would differ. A breakdown will probably point out what differs.

Why the heck is the MM adding a .3 correction for an 89?

I am sorry that would be a neg 0.3. Thank you for that. I did not see it.

So everyone knows, and I've mentioned this before, the MM Paradigm pumps do not round to the nearest tenth for the food dose. They just decapitate the hundredth place. For example, it doesn't matter if a calculation comes up with .87, .81, .85, the MM will show it as .8.

The correction doses are based off the min and max target range, and it will not give a correction if you are anywhere in the target range itself.

If you are above your targe range the correction is calculated as
(BG - Max Target)/ISF

If you are below your target range, the correction is calculated as
(BG - Min Target)/ISF
This comes out to be a negative number

The bolus on board is not linear like the Omnipod or the Cozmo, but is curvilinear, so they differ in their BOB (IOB) calculations as well.

If you do a test calc on the Omnipod vs the MM552 for the same exact BG (make it a high number), same carbs, no active insulin, it would be easier to see the differences.
