Just had a question--we went to Dollywood last week for spring break and battled highs with Lindsay the whole time. The day we were at the park the whole day we had eaten lunch right around noon--had pb sandwich, chips and grapes (our normal amount of carbs). Then we went all afternoon with no snack--finally around 5:00pm got a little snack and checked bs before eating--it was at 430!!! This was 5 hours after eating nothing AND walking around all day. Just wondered if the excitement of the rides can do something to the bs. Also, does staying hydrated help keep sugar down? I don't think Lindsay drank much that day either.

Excitement/adrenaline can definitely cause high blood sugars. We live close to Dollywood and usually have season passes. Because we go often, Braden doesn't usually have highs due to excitement. However, we went to Disney a couple of years ago, and I fought highs all week. Making sure she is hydrated could help, but my son always needs more insulin to bring down these highs. Hope you had fun at Dollywood!
