They think Anastacia's honeymoon is ending since her last bout of Rotor Virus. Her BSL's are wacky high with her basal rate being 4 times what it was when it was attached a few weeks back. Her A1C has gone up... high 10's almost 11... cant remember exactly, I guess I blocked that bit out. :cwds: The hospital is trying to get the downloading software for her monitor donated for us so that we can email her readings in each day.
Good news is she is gaining weight. She was 8 kg when she got ill in hospital... now she is 10.1 kg... that 2.1 kg gained in about 2 weeks! Can you believe it... I thought she was gaining when her 5 month old sized clothes weren't fitting anymore (and they were a loose fit before). She no longer looks dangerously skinny... she looks like the average 12 month old! :D

I'm so glad she's gaining weight!!! That's a really good sign that she's finally getting enough insulin to feed her little body... poor baby!:( I really hope the pump will finally help her get back on track!
We had a very abrupt increase in insulin when Emma was about the same age. She had just had 12 month immunizations and we quadrupled her insulin in the following days. Insanity!!!
Don't worry about her A1C right now. As long as your making progress and she's gaining weight you should be happy. The rest will come in time.
Great Job!:)

Gulp, Anastacia had her 12 month immunisations yesterday... took it like a tropper I'm proud to say! I suppose I wont really see any change in her levels with her shots, but maybe the increases in insulin wont show any changes in her BSL's... I dono I suppose it is all wait and see... like anything else with this darn disease! :(
I am soooooooooo glad she has gained weight, for so long people assumed she was a 4 or 5 month old baby... until they saw her walking... lol... got a few stares! :p

Yeah to hear that she is growing.... Thats great.. I swear i dont know how you moms with the babies do it.. its hard enought with toddlers... I agree dont worry about the a1c's to much at all.. besides she is so young you dont want them to low, and considering the fact of what she just went thru befor the pump.. a 10 or a 11 isnt half bad, id be pretty proud...:D :D :D

It's great to hear your daughter is gaining weight. Things will get better. Don't worry about the A1C yet, that will come. The main thing is to get her healthy. I can't imagine how hard it is with a baby. My daughter was 4 1/2 and I thought that was hard.

Gaining weight is a great thing! Hopefully, that's just the start of some better times for you.
