The nurse that did our pump training came out to Carson's school and trained all of the staff. There is also a nurse on the diabetes/endo team that goes to all the schools in our area if you're not on a pump. Does your daughter have anyone like that available. The endo's office should take care of that for you.

We're not in Seattle, obviously, but I think that's how it usually works.

We are from Michigan. It's a free service through the hospital, dr's office, diabetes outreach. You can call your local JDRF and they can tell you who does the training for your area.

Good Luck! God Bless! Tami

I would think your doctor would have someone who does this...

You should be able to call your state's Health Dept. to have someone come in and do a presentation for the teachers, bus driver e, etc. That's what we did. She came in w/ a power point presentation, sample glucose tablets, books, pamphlets, etc. It was great. We live in PA though. I don't know if Washington state dpet of health has something like that but it's worth a try! It doesn't hurt to have them on your side.
