My daughter has a MM715. I need some opinions. Is it worth updating to the 722? What would the benefits be? It would only cost a few hundred dollars to upgrade. Should we do it? She is 14 and on a very high dose of insulin.

The only difference between the 715 and the 722 is the CGMS capability.

The 722 can support the CGMS and 715 can't. If you are not pursuing the CGMS, I wouldn't upgrade yet. The size of the insulin reservoirs are the same, too so you would not get extra insulin capacity.

Is the 715 a "smart" pump like the 722. In other words, does it do all the calculations for you and show active insulin and account for that when giving a dosage estimate.

Yes it does. It is exactly the same except for the cgms capability.

Thanks everyone! That's what I thought! Just wanted to be sure.

We also waited to upgrade until we were ready to use the cgms. There will be another new pump one of these days so I would wait unless you are going to use cgms.
