Hi, last week we found out that our daughter Madison age 9 has type 1. Our son Connor has had it for 2 years. Right now things are ok. Madi has adjusted to her blood sugar checks and injections. Thank goodness we caught it early and she didn't get sick. They tell us that she will most likely have a long honeymoon period, which would be good. She is on low doses of humalog to cover carbs only (1:40) - no lantis yet.

Just wondering if there is anyone else out there with more than one child. I have 2 more without it and now I am really holding my breath!

Yup - I've got two sweeties here and one who so far is non diabetic. Glad to hear your daughter was caught earlier- I caught my daughter early too - thank goodness! (I don't know about you, but I could recognize that look on her face right away)

Both my kids are on pumps now and all seems to be chugging along fairly well.

Good luck with everything - you will do great!
