Well, lack of sleep finally caught up.
I threw away Brian's CGMS transmittor on Friday. Never noticed until tonight, as his skin needed a break.
Thankfully, we've been out most of the weekend and it was still in the kitchen garbage can (albeit underneath much yucky stuff).
I KNEW those emergency CPR gloves would come in handy some day :D

It is the part that sends the blood sugar to the pump when you or your child is wearing a Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGMS).
We don't have insurance and paid out of pocket for it, I think the "starter kit" that it came in was $1000. there isn't an option for buying a replacement one on the Minimed website, although I'm sure they do sell them. Still....what a relief that I found it!!

I have read of that happening and I think about it everytime I handle that transmitter. It would be very easy to do! Glad you found it!!!! :)

Thank goodness you hadn't done the dump run yet! I've thrown the cap out to the pump, but that can't even compare!

All I could think of when I read your post was that scene from Parenthood where they are looking through the dumpster and trash cans for their sons retainer!!:p

I did the exact same thing last week, but I had already dumped my garbage in the large cans out in the hall. So I had to dig through all of my garbage and everyone elses. It was more than disgusting, but I found it.
I am glad that you found yours too.

I am so worried about doing this myself. It is so small and unimportant looking.
Hmmm..we aren't using them right now, but when we go back to it I think I'll mark it somehow. Like "Do not throw away!!!"

Reminds me of throwing away my retainers in the lunch room way back when, but so much worse. Yikes! I'm glad you found it before it was too late.

LOL! This reminded me of one time when I couldn't find my cell phone and.... you guessed it, when I tried calling the # it started ringing IN THE TRASH CAN!!!! To this day I still don't know how it ended up there!!!
Thank goodness you were able to find it!!!!!!!!!:)

You know the saying...
Another man's trash is another man's treasure! (I'd be the treasure seeker in this situation!)
Soooooooooooooooo glad to hear you found it! :p

I'm pretty sure I'm going to do this someday, it's just a matter of when.
