what my pump really needs is to be able to change the I:C in half's.
I'd like a bfast ration of 1:7.5
That would be great thanks.....
I wish it could take 1/2 carbs...so 14.5 carbs instead of rounding (However, I used to wish that I could do this to units! I would want to give 14.7 units and have to round - so maybe I shouldn't complain )

Same here! We alternate between too much and too little for breakfast ratio.

I've had the same problem since being on the pump! I've had to override what the pump suggests to get 1:9.5 for breakfast, because 1:9 sends me low and 1:10 puts me at 300 at 2 hours after.
And it would be nice to be able to program a more specific temp basal amounts instead of whole percentages (10, 20, 30%...etc.), which is all I can do on the animas.
Oh, well. Maybe with the next upgrade.
You can always do the bolus math in your head, and calculate the extra amount manually, then override the suggested bolus. It really wouldn't be that complicated. (I'm sure Marsha will give you a formula ;)...and I mean that with all due respect, Marsha).

The Cozmo allows that for carb ratios less than 10.

LOL!! I was thinking about a math formula when I first read the post. I was afraid to say anything.

LOL, :pI'm laughing too hard to respond.
Okay, in all seriousness, if the carb ratio is really low, then this suggestion that Fran wants makes more of a difference. For example, if Ivan has a breakfast ratio of 7.5, don't use the pump calcuation for food, but use a calculator instead. Say he eats 47 grams. 47/7.5 = 6.26 and if your pump only does tenths of a unit, do 6.3 to be more aggressive, or 6.2 to be less agressive in the dose. Then just modify the food dose on the pump accordingly.
With a carb ratio of 7, his food dose would be 47/7 or 6.7, so as you can see, it does make a big difference to have a carb ratio with half units when you have very low carb ratios to begin with. :-)
Marsha,
I envy your math skills. Can you come live in my house say for a week so I can sharpen up my skills?

LADIES... this is pumping 101. They made me sit with a book and do all the sums during training! I just don't want to have to calculate everything and lets just say that maths was never a strong point. I only went to school to eat my lunch.

I always remind my students that they never know when they may need their math. See exhibit A here!

My degree is in math, so it helps. I even have a favorite formula from college (you don't want to know what THAT formula is). I'm a geek.

the cozmo wil let you do that. Once you go below 1:10, you can program the bolus's in half's. Jesse's late night bolus is 1:8.5 . Some might think its isnt much.. but when your almost 16 and comsume mass quantities of food, it can add up to a few units of insulin...
