You only need to change a site every 2 or 3 days, some people do it even less.
There are many different infusion sets. Most just leave a small flexible tube in your body, not a needle. Its inserted with a needle though, but its not much worse than an injection. If your worried about pain, you can get EMLA cream which completely numbs the skin so you can't feel it!
The pumps are about the size of a pager, so its not much different than carrying around a cell phone in your pocket.
Pumping is really cool. They come in lots of colours and the MiniMed ones have skins to put on them. I just had to show you this Spongebob one!

The Animas is the smallest pump. They can use any set except the proprietary Minimed ones.
The smallest sets have a 6mm cannula or a needle

Animas can use Minimed sets designed for the 50x series, which they still make/sell.

Yea you can get MiniMed sets for the other pumps (they come in luer lock, made for MiniMed's older pumps) and you can also use other sites with the MiniMed if you use a special reservoir which you can buy.
So either way, whether you're on MM or another pump, you have ALL the different sites from every pump to choose from, its really not a concern at all.
