With 2 people with D our total cost is just over $1,200 per month. We pay half of that out of pocket, and Shane's employer picks up the rest.

Insurance is why I work at this job.

I pay $200 a month, no deductibles, no maximum benefits etc. And they cover all D supplies (insulin, test strips, pump, infusion sets, syringes etc) at 100% no copay.

The pay sucks, but this is a great place to work if you have a child with D.

ETA there are three of us and co-pays are $15 for office, $50 for emergency room visits (no admit) and prescrips other than D supplies are $7/$14/$24 depending on the level etc.

We pay nothing (hawkeyeboy's employer pays 100% of the premium). We have a $20 office visit co-pay, and a $10 co-pay for Lantus, syringes, and lancets. It's really great insurance.

we pay nothing, my DH works for a Union, it the union pays it all.. nothing comes out of his paycheck.. but I would image they pay quite a bit, his benifits are $15.00 more an hour ontop of his take home pay.. thats $2400 a month they pay to his benifits.. but that also includes his other 'benifits'.. not sure which one.. I jsut know we don't pay health insurance, and Ilike it that way:)

My Matt is union too.. so why techinically they dont take it from the hourkly paycheck, they are paying for it. Do you get the "banked insurance accnt" too? If my Matt works over 40 hrs aweek, the difference for the insurance goes into a banked accnt, asd we use that to get reimbursed for copays, deductibles, dental, etc.

Which union is he in? My dh is a millwright.
ETA: If we were paying it, it is $175 a week for premiums

Matt doesn't have banked insurance account (although it sounds nice)... he does have to 'work' for his insurance.. and depending on the hours of work it can change our insurance to a less desirable one, but they do their best to keep you on plan A.. which has the lowest co-pays... Some companies will take out your insurance before you are taxed (what they are actually suppose to do, I think) The UNION pays x amount to the health 'fund' for every hour Matt works, its not even listed on his paycheck.. I know that the union pays an extra $15.00 an HOUR on top of what they pay him to his benefits, one being our insurance.. but there are other funds in there as well, pension and annuity.. I'm not sure how it splits it up..

Matt works for a carpenter's union out of MA.. He is/was an mechanical engineer but didn't like sitting down at a desk.. so he went to the union.. he likes to build things LOL.. the sad thing is that he's getting paid way more doing union work that he was doing engineering.. and you can't beat the benefits.. best choice he's ever made, except for marring me ;) LOL..

We pay $88.00 dollars a month for a family of five. $20.00 copays for office visits and $50.00 emergency and $10.00 per persciption...perscriptions are the costly part.

Gotta love working for the Federal Government when it comes to benefits.:)

Brian only pays a fraction (I'm sure) of our benefits with his employer picking up a good part of it. Our part just went up, but I'm sure it's still less than $300 a month. We've got BCBSNC. Our copays went up in Jan, but are still reasonable and we have no cap on diabetes supplies...and they aren't considered DME...they have their own category.

We're on state full coverage right now. In about 1 month I will put the kids on a state program where I pay about $50 a month and I will be on my company insurance which will cost $33 per pay period. If I added just kids it would be $73 per pay period and if I had whole family it cost $100 per pay period for HMO. A PPO it pretty much doubles. Plus I have available Flexible Spending Account which I haven't enrolled in yet, but will once I start paying for health care.

We pay about $500 per month in premiums to cover me, Brenden, and Emma. Employer pays 75% of my premium and zip of the kids. It's way too expensive to add Amy, so we bought her a separate plan that costs another $180 per month.

Our plan is UnitedHealthCare PPO, and is GREAT. We have no copay on insulin, test stips, blood ketone stips, etc. Office visits are $20, and everything else is paid at 90%. We use A Plus for the pump supplies.

]I pay about 300 a month, BCBS Federal. A 90 day supply for her pump costs me about 70.00, insulin 35.00 for 90 days. These are co-pays for mail order, local pharmacy, like wal greens is about 80.00 for one vial of insulin. Mail order is the only way to go but it can be a real pain.

We pay a little over $400 per month for family coverage. This is for an HMO. Employer pays over $700 per month for their portion. We have no deductibles, $15/$20 office visits, and can get 90 day pharmacy scripts for a one month co-pay. So, 3 months of insulin is $20, 3 months strips is $5, etc. DME is covered 100%.

Were were with a PPO, which we paid an extra $20 per month. We just changed to HMO this year. The benefits were paid at the same level for both except we paid an extra $5 for office visits on our PPO.

I don't pay any monthly premiums, or any thing for the insurance. But (and this is a big but) I pay for everything until I reach $5800 then the insurance kicks in and covers 80% and me 20% until I reach the next $5800 then every thing is 100%. The big problem is if I have to order pump supplies for my daughter and in the same month she has her 3 month checkup and have to order insulin and strips, I could dish out over $800 in one month.

We pay around $250.00 a month for a family of 4. We pay up front on our prescriptions and have to wait on a reimbursment (till i heard of A+) but our first D scrip was a wopping $1400.00. We pay 30% for a office visit.

We pay about $400 a month and we are required to pay the FIRST $2,000 out of pocket per person or $4,000 family. Max gets there the first month and then he's covered for the rest of the year. The rest of the family never makes it so we pay for everything. It's not a good plan!

Well here I just have private medical insurance for me and the kids and that is around NZD$88 which in your money is about USD$70.00 per month.
Our hospital care here in NZ is free, and Dylans supplies cost me anything between $3-$22 every 3 months, the cheaper end being because I have a High User Prescription Card, so after a certain amount of prescriptions at the same chemist I go to, its free. We get heavily subsidised here, as in the Government pays a lot towards insulin, etc.
All his stays in hospital are free of charge, I pay a St Johns Amublance fee of $40.00 per year which allows me not to be charged for the ambulance.

I am self employed, so we are out of pocket about 6,000 a year for family of four. We just raised our deductable, prior to diagnosis which brought cost down. Right now Endo, is $20 co-pay and pharmacy is 50%. Not sure how it will evolve.
