My ex has Cigna which he just switched to at the beginning of the year (he switched last year before Gavin was DX) and they totally suck. They only allow us 4 test strips per day which is insane and he is only allowed to "spend" $3500 a year which will go really fast and the rest comes out of pocket. The endo is going to tell them that we need more strips per month and hopefully we will get them.

We did have a pretty good endo appt yesterday. We talked to the doctor for quite a while and told him what's going on and he adjusted Gavin's doses to ½:20 for breakfast and lunch and ½:25 for dinner. He also wrote orders for a morning snack at school since Gavin has been going low when they check him at 11ish.

We didn't ask for anything giving us permission to adjust his doses to the school, we'll just wait another month or two and see how things go. We don't have another appt until June and they will do blood work then so we will see how far he's come since his DX A1C of 13.7.

Wow, I hope the insurance company will change their mind on the strips. That is just not enough. I'm sure you will see great improvement in June from your dx A1C!!!

That is so sad about the strips. Do you send copies of the reciepts to them when you buy them. I would also send some kind of report showing how many times a day you test.
