Is it possible to get Type 2 diabetes WITHOUT a family history?
I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia a while back. My doctor is having me check my blood sugar once a day.
Lately, though, I've noticed that my blood sugar has been higher than normal. For example, last night, before I went to bed, I checked my blood sugar, and it was 168 mg/dl. I took the test at midnight.
I hadn't eaten since 8:30pm, and hadn't exercised since earlier in the afternoon.
This morning, I also had a higher fasting level (110 mg/dl). I got a good night's sleep (I slept for 10 hours), so I don't know what's going on. I've been more fatigued lately and have been more hungry, but I haven't shown any other classic symptoms of diabetes.
Is this something I should worry about, or could the high readings be just a one-time deal? Any advice would help me out a lot!
