Pat went to his endo today before he heads back to school on Saturday. His A1c came down from 10.3 in December to 7.9!:D He has gained about 10 pounds (I know because my grocery bill has skyrocketed) and he feels so much better! We had a great meeting with the endo team and we all celebrated.
Now for the hard part...going back to all the temptations he met along the way first semester freshman year; late nights, partying, roommate stresses, heavy course load, and no reminders to bolus. We have agreed he is still going to send us numbers every night. (well that usually means 3:00 am for him ) Not so much to check up on him (well maybe a little), but for him to keep track.
The other good news we received yesterday was that he made the Deans List for first semester.:D After all he dealt with, and clearly running high many times with an A1c of 10.3, he still worked hard to keep his grades up. Woo Hoo!
He earned his right to go back to school...I pray he keeps up the good D- management.
