anyone been having any problems with the paradigm 512 batteries running out very quickly
We've been using the recomended energiser batteries, but they have gone from previously lasting up to 6 weeks to the last one only lasting 4 days..and then dying with no warning. (they had literally gone in order, 6 weeks, 7 days, 6 days, 5 days, 4 days..so now I'm expecting this one to last 3 days :(
any ideas?

My daughter uses the 515 but I've had some batteries drain pretty quickly too. I've been using the duracell which have a use by date. If it's getting close to the date they seem to drain quicker.

4 days???? Something is def. not right! I'd call the pump company to see if they have any ideas, and ask energizer to replace the worthless batteries.:)
We use the 515 for Emma and the 715 for my husband, and the shortest we've ever had a battery last is 4 weeks. We use the RF meter, the remote and download the numbers regularly, (all very battery draining), and still never a big problem with battery life.
Good luck figuring it out!

I would definitely call Minimed and ask them about it. I've been pumping on a 515 for 4 years and have never had a problem with batteries (unless I use the cheap ones, but even then they last at least a few weeks). And check the use by date on them!

Could you have a dud pack of batteries? Try the energiser people and tell them what happened! say it caused an emergency situation that put your sons life in danger and you may get some freebies!

Sorry we dont use the minimed, but i agree with the others, if the battiers are going bad that quick there is something wrong with either the battiery or the pump...
1. advise the pump company
2. advise the battery company and let them know what you are using the batterys for and how imparitive that they do work properly
3.. We use the litium battiers for our pump and they are great, 1 battiery lasted over 4 months..

I hope it's just the batteries and not the pump. We've found with the Cozmo, you have to have a brand name of batteries like energizer or duracell. Once we bought the cheap generic batteries and the pump wouldn't even turn on with those!!! When we put in the energizer batteries, it lasts for about 4 weeks. Maybe it is a bad set of batteries.

Also
i was advised not to use rechargeable battiers with our animas pump....

Thanks all for clarifying. I had called the supplier and they suggested the dud set of batteries so we tried a new pack... still the same. After a week of calls they are replacing the pump today Thank God. I was beginning to feel a bit like a hardaware store with all the batteries I was carrying around :-)
I'll let ye know how we get on
