We have had two of our sons tested the past 2 years (just did year 2) and we just had our other son tested for the first time this week.....I'm just curious if anyone had a positive test, and if you did, what do they do???

I have been part of the TrialNet study for a couple of years. I had positive antibodies and was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 30 years old. Here's a thread from when I was diagnosed. http://forums.childrenwithdiabetes.com/showthread.php?t=5609. At first I thought it was type 1.5, but it is not, definitely type 1, they just caught it early.
My youngest son, my husband and my sister have all tested negative for the antibodies. I was the only one positive.

I forgot to add what they did for a positive test. When I tested positive, I had to go in every 6 months for a 2 hour oral glucose tolerance test. You have to eat really high carb for 3 days prior and then go in for the test fasting. The test itself is really easy, just long. It's about 3 1/2 hours from the time you go in until you're completely done. They put in an IV line because they have to draw a lot of blood and do it every 30 minutes, so the IV line is so they don't have to poke you for the blood draw every 30 minutes. Hope that helps.
