I have a question for you experienced folks out there. I hope I can word it so that it makes sense.
If your child is high before a meal and you pre-bolus, the pump adds in the correction for the high. Then when you bolus for the rest of the carbs, do you bolus just for the carbs (in our case, bolus at 100) or do you punch in the pre-meal number, assuming the pump will take the previous correction dose into consideration?
For example - she is 200. Bolus correction (per the settings in the pump) and for 20 grams of carbs. After the meal, you need to bolus for 20 more grams - punch in the 200 again or just bolus for carbs?

WE would just dial in the additional carbs.. We dont re-enter the bg because we had already corrected for it.

Exactly the same thing here... I just bolus for the remaining amount of carbs. The correction was already done.
I don't know about all pumps, but on our Cozmo at least.... reentering the BG number would also look odd on our meter downloads. I would assume it would appear as two tests since we entered another BG. I wouldn't want it to throw off our averages and such.

Ditto, extra carbs only.

I would pre-bolus the correction and 15 carbs.. when she is done I skip the BG enter screen and only enter in the carbs (minus the 15 I've already bolused for) you don't want to enter in the BG twice..

I didn't know at the beginning that you COULD skip the #, so when I would do the post-bolus, I would just dial in a bogus number that was "in range" and I would highlight in the spreadsheet where I record everything. Now I just skip it and I recoded my spreadsheet to allow me to leave the entry blank.

There should be a place on the "Enter BG" screen that is three or four dashes instead of a number. I believe (although I've never sat down and figured it out) it is the center of the target range. For us, it's usually around 90 or 110, depending on whose pump...
If you do re-enter a high BG a second time, the pump won't "double-correct" because of the active insulin, but if you re-enter a LOW BG a second time, it WILL double negative-correct (can you tell I've done both before? :o)
