hi my name is jayden i'm nine and a girl. i was just dianosed last friday . have any one ever ben to diabetes camp? if so is it fun .because i might have to go there this summer. i hope it will be fun. and can i have some idvice of the people who have had diabetes for a wile is it fun having a pump if you have one. relly is it fun well bye oh yea what about school well i'm home schooles so it wouldn't mader but i might go to publick school well bye:D

I went to Camp Chinook/Conrad over the summer. It was pretty fun. You will have a fun time going and you will make lots of new friends, too!

I've had diabetes for a little over a year now, and a pump for around 5 months. A pump is very cool, you can eat whatever and whenever you want!:)

I went to Camp Conrad Chinook this summer also. It was fun. It was the first time I went. I recommend it. :)

I don't know if the pump is fun but I think it's better than shots. But remember that you will have it attached to you at all times. You can eat whenever you want and you can not eat whenever you want too. You just have to remember to give yourself a bolus when you eat, which I pretty much forget to do all the time. Then my bg goes sky high and I feel bad. I have been on the pump for 5 years. You can do a trial run with saline to see if you like it. Ask your endo. My Mom did it too.

I've gone to Barton camp[NY,CT,Boston,LI] for 5 yrs. going on 6 this year in CT. I was diagnosed the day after my 5th b-day[2\4\1998] And I turned 10 4 days ago. I'm on Minimed 522, the Sure-T and the CGMS. It makes your life better.you should get a pump. I am on a MiniMed 522 and use a Sure-T. Yesterday and the day before, I was really high.I had to get a shot at like 3:15 am. My Meter Said HI.My CGMS said over 400. I went to school late and my dad had to come and change my site.my mom was at school for something and had to take me home. Turns out, my pump was not giving me a basal. Before that, I had to change my site like 3 times. I got shots until my new pump came. I waited until my pump came, like 10:00 to eat breakfast. I had to change my site twice. Once at home,and at my aunts in NYC. But I got to go to American Girl. So, keep syringes on handy.

you should really watch what you eat. eating healthy is very important. wearing a pump helps your sugar to be kept more under control. hopefully you are getting properly educated by someone at your doctor's office. check your sugar frequently and take your insulin as directed. pumps also allows more flexibility. talk to your doctor about omnipod. good luck at camp. hope you'll have a blast!

hey! Sorry about your diagnosis! But don't worry it will get so much better. I highly recomend going to camp! You will have a blast and you will also learn a lot about how to take care of your diabetes. I'm not sure where you live, but if you live near california, i recomend going to Bearskin Meadow Camp! It is one of the best places ever. I have been going ever since I got diagnosed, so for about 9 years now! Good luck, and you will have a blast at camp!

hey! i'm 16...but I have been going to camp since I was 8 years old, and I was diagnosed when I was 7! So I have been having fun at camp for a long time!! :)

jayden i go to cathlic school and i go down to the nurse at 9:45 to test my blood gluclouse then i go eat snack then at 12:00 and test again and eat lunch and i have the pump Animas it is awsome :D:cool: i love it
