HI all

IN one of the earlier post someone asked what a " bag of hope" was.... its aa very important question and didnt want this to get lost.. JDRF has temped up with roche dx, ( accucheck as many of you know them by) and have put together wonderful bags full of goodies for newly dx paitents... ( We never got ours last year, and so they gave charlize one the other day.. ) ANy way i have included a link to jdrf for basic info on them, but contact your local chapter and ask for one if you have not gotten one yet. Charlize got hers and got to open it there in the office and it was sooo magical for her and them.. SHe now has her rufus bear she has read about and it has not left her side, and she gets to deliver one to a new local family here in phoenix soon and cant wait..

Thanks Chandra, now that I see it, he did get a bag of hope when Thomas was first diagnosed. They sent it to us in the mail.

When Aiden was first diagnosed it was so helpful having Rufus. Aiden took his injections so much easier when he knew that Rufus was getting them too:)

I agree completely! If you do not have a bag of hope yet get one!

We got a lot of gifts from the hospital, the clinic we started with, and the clinic we were referred to so Kim has done fairly well in the gift department since diagnosis (I think we have added at least a dozen stuffed animals to her collection, countless coloring books, etc...)

But Rufus has been magic. Best gift by far. There is something about sharing diabetes with some one and someone else taking finger pokes and shots with you.

Ty never got one :( and I was a little bummed about that......so now 3 years later.....I think maybe I'll sign up to be a volunteer to "deliver" so no one else gets overlooked......
