I'm so sorry! About 6 months after my daughter's diagnosis our dog was sick. They checked her for diabetes and I that's when I had the meltdown. I just couldn't take it anymore.

A girl at work read us a quote today: "When you are at the end of your rope tie a knot and hold on!"

You WILL get through it because you have to, but you're entitled to your meltdown. I hope everything is good with Charlize. :p

When it rains, it pours, huh? GEEEZ.
I'm sorry!!! {{hugs****

When we were in the hospital, our endo told us that it's fairly common for some breeds of dogs and cats to have diabetes...and I guess they have to get insulin shots just like people. Yowzer. Actually, she told us that at Stanford, they have dogs being tested with a closed-loop system with CGMS and a pump! Dang, the things we have had to learn since diagnosis...

Can I do anything to help? I'm not too far away, so please let me know!!

Big hugs to you guys. My mom's dog was diabetic. She gave her injections for 3 years.

My Mom had a cat who had diabetes for 7 years before she finally died of old age. Kitty got 2 shots a day, no pawpad poking! LOL! She'd have blood work done at the vet's every 3 -6 months, but in general, it wasn't a big deal to give her a shot. I can't remember what kind of insulin the cat was on, but it definitely wasn't the rapid-acting analog.
