View Full Version : Anyone use the Inject-Ease??
My older son is pumping now but the baby is on injections. My mom ordered an Inject-Ease for herself but never used it. Has anyone here used one? Does it make the injections easier? It looks a little bulky to me but if it reduces the baby's pain, I'm all for it.
Thanks :)

My son has used an inject ease for nearly 9 years -- since he was 3. I don't think he, his father or I could do a shot without it. At one point, the endo decided it was a crutch and we shouldn't use it, but my son protested after experiencing pain giving the shot without. He started using it again.
I tried it on myself both ways, and using the inject ease holds the shot still and it doesn't sting at all. My son does nearly all shots in his bottom.
You will need to use the correct attachment and possibly a ring so that the shot goes in enough, but not too much.
The spring seems like it would hurt, but my son claims it does not.

We have one and used it for William when he was on shots and it made a HUGE difference for all of us. You can't see the needle going in - it makes that process automatic?
Amy - a crutch? What's up with that endo? I think you should whack him with a crutch!
I can still give shots without it (William is just 4 so he doesn't do his own shots or wouldn't - he pumps - anyway).
I even take it when we travel along with our backup supplies. I highly suggest getting a new syringe and trying it on yourself (just the part where you stick it in - don't put anything in the syringe!). I found it didn't hurt much and it is probably one of the easiest ways to give yourself a shot in the hip.

We loved it for injections - Rachel could even help by pressing the release button. I recommend one :D

Wow, your boys are adorable!!!
Ben used to use it when he was on injections and it was fine but I always found it more comfortable for me not to use it.
Is there a reason why you haven't opted for a pump for Jack, Amy???
The reason I ask is because Ben started pumping at 14 months after 7 months of injections and it was a phenomenal improvement for him.
I hope you don't mind me asking.

I use the inject ease for injections in my tush and in my legs, but it bruises my arms.
It really really helped me to get used to shots.

Yes! I wish I had known about it years ago when I would fight Nikki to get injections done. She absolutely hates shots and we got it a few months before going on the pump. No more tears, crying, telling me everytime "that was a bad spot, mommy".
She still uses it for her lantus injections. If we are somewhere and she has forgotten it, she can now do injections without it, but it has helped so much.
It may look bulky, but it's simple to use. It's just like the auto clickers for doing bg except for shots.

I thought it was a great idea and paid out of pocket for one for my daughter. She hated it. She is 6 and I think it just scared her. Anyway, we are using pens for now and don't use the eject-ease at all. If anyone needs one, I have one that was only used twice.
